Measuring Vertical Blinds

Measuring Vertical Blinds

For Vertical Blinds, "blind size" is the exact size of your blind.

Measuring Roller Blinds

Measuring Roller Blinds

Width of a roller blind is measured from bracket-to-bracket.

The width of Fabric on your roller blind will be 35mm less than the bracket-to-bracket width.

If you require a certain width of fabric, you will have to add on 35 mm to this fabric width measurement to give your "blind (bracket-to-bracket) width"

The most common reason for giving "blind size" is if you wish to hang your blind outside of the window recess.

In this case you would decide how much you wish your blind to overlap the recess. Use the simple guide below to calculate your blind size.

Width of Blind = Width of Window Recess + Overlap
Height of Blind = Total Height of Window Recess + Overlap

We will make your blind exactly to these sizes.

Other reasons for giving "blind size" rather than recess size would be if you intend to hang your blind within the window recess and you know how much you need to deduct for your blind to fit perfectly.

Or you are ordering a blind for a situation where there is no window recess, for example in a conservatory

Or you only want the blind to cover only part of a window.
